World Languages Mandarin Chinese - World: Guānxì Resource Center

Administrative Support

Starting a Mandarin Chinese Language Program
Gain the support of key stakeholders within your school and in the community to begin planning. Aim for a broad representation from various groups, including other language teachers, school principals, district administrators, school board members, parents, students, members of business, and ethnic heritage communities. Work together to develop long- and short-term goals and identify how to support the goals.

Aim to provide strong coordination and articulation across levels of instruction to sustain a program leading to high levels of fluency.

Once the program is established, involve the wider community even more to promote the program and seek opportunities for interaction and growth. Students and all partners involved will benefit through the exchange.
